Certificate in Couple Therapy

This 4 day course provides an initial training in working with couples. The core theoretical model will be TA, but insights from other modalities will be included. Each training day will consist of didactic teaching, experiential exercises and couple therapy role- plays.

The course is open to anyone who is already a practising counsellor/psychotherapist and who is interested in working with couples. Participants will need to have at least 2 years experience (minimum of 2 clients a week) as a practitioner, but do not need to be currently working with couples to participate in the workshop.

• Ethical issues in couple work
• Formation and development of couple relationship
• Goals of therapy
• Assessment & diagnosis of couple problems
• Treatment of couple problems
• Helping couples to separate
