		The Institute offers an in-depth vocational training as a psychotherapist and also a Post-Graduate Certificate and Diploma leading to an MA in TA Psychotherapy in conjunction with Leeds Metropolitan University. Success in the external examinations of the European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA) leads to registration as a psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy. It is also possible for trainees to apply for accreditation with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy after they have successfully completed 3 years training.
	Excerpts from the External Examiners Report 2008: The overall performance of the students, in relation to that of comparable levels of work in other institutions is “excellent and in some cases particularly outstanding, showing a level of integration of theory at the highest level.” The strengths and weaknesses of the students in general with respect to knowledge, conceptual grasp or application of skills “compared to other years and comparable to other institutions, the development and performance of the students has changed markedly. Reflecting the changes in the field of psychotherapy, the students’ capacity to reflect on their work is of a high quality”. The standards of the structure, organisation, design and marking of all examination papers and/or other forms of assessment “the students’ knowledge of their subject is high and their application to practice high”.
